What do gutter guards cost?
The honest answer for most homes we do in Idaho and Washington: between $2,000 and $3,000 installed, including a full gutter cleaning. Here's what moves the number up or down — and what should always be included.
The four things that set the price
- Linear feet of gutter — the biggest factor. A small rambler might have 120 feet; a large two-story with multiple rooflines can have 300+.
- Height and access — second-story rooflines, steep driveways, and landscaping that keeps ladders away from the gutter line all add labor.
- Roof pitch — steeper roofs shed water faster and need more careful guard fitting at valleys and corners.
- Condition of the existing gutters — sagging, seeping, or poorly pitched gutters may need repair (or replacement with seamless aluminum) before guards make sense.
What should always be included
- A full gutter cleaning before installation — guards over debris just seal the problem in. Ours is free with every install.
- Inspection of downspouts, flashing, and pitch — and an honest flag on anything that needs fixing first.

Guards + new gutters at the same time
If your gutters are at the end of their life, installing seamless aluminum gutters and guards in one visit is usually cheaper than doing them a year apart — the crew, ladders, and haul-off are already on-site. Ask your estimator to price both ways; the quote is free either way.

Why do quotes range from $2,000 to $3,000 for similar houses?
Two houses with the same footprint can have very different gutter systems — total linear feet, number of stories, roof pitch, and access do most of the work in the price. That's why every estimate we give is measured on-site, free.
Are cheap screen guards from the hardware store worth it?
They cost less up front, but screens pass needles and grit, sag under snow, and usually need pulling out within a few seasons. Micro-mesh costs more once and is warrantied for 40 years.
Do you charge for the estimate?
